I went outside while it was nice today and took several photos of both man made and natural decaying objects. I'm quite please with several of them, the lighting was lovely today. I'm hoping to have more days like this, this week.
I have decided to do a concentration comparing decay in both man made and natural objects. Macro, texture, color, point of view, and contrast are all important principles of design in my photography to help express my overall theme of decay. The objects in my photography will be personally connected to me because I've grown up around both types of environment. My father is kind of a collector of rusted objects and I've always lived in areas surrounded by forest. I can't wait to get started.
Your recent photos are excellent! You are well on your way to a finished concentration! I especially love the stove element image. You can recognize what the object is even though it is in deep decay. I love the combination of man made and natural objects. Keep up the excellent work! Your work has strong unity through texture and color and variety through the many different objects and dynamic compositions.
ReplyDeleteI really like the photo of the dead leaf with the young plant growing out of it. It is a very clear image and shows your theme of decay while bringing in an element of new life and hope.
ReplyDeleteYour photos through out your blog so far are excellent! You can capture really great views on the object you are photographing. Your photos also have a great sense of unity within the entire group of photos. The image of the rusted spiral is a spectacular image. You are one of the people who have inspired me to continue taking pictures. So for that I thank you. Keep up the great work! You will definantly go far.
ReplyDeleteSo far all of your blog photos are looking amazing! Your idea is well-rounded and intresting. I really like the two leaf photos as well as the last decaying photo.
ReplyDeleteMy goodness! It's really cool to see how many different objects, whether man made or mother nature made, there will always be rust and decay. I enjoy your concentration series, being that you bring your own eyes out into the world, finding things that others would't even think about. Wonderful!
